2nd midterm conference of EUPHA Health Workforce Research (HWR) section

Run in collaboration with the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in Lisbon, the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies, WHO Regional Office for Europe, ASPHER, and EUPHA:
Health workforce research has never been more important. The COVID-19 crisis reminds us that human resources for health are the backbone and the ‘heart and soul’ of every healthcare system. The pandemic revealed both the system weaknesses and the opportunities for innovation. The EUPHA-HWR second midterm Conference provided a forum for exchanging knowledge and expertise on how to create a better prepared and protected health workforce and more resilient healthcare systems.
The Conference also contributed to the WHO International Year of Health and Care Workers (YHCW) in 2021 in recognition of their dedication to providing care during and despite the COVID-19 pandemic that has challenged health systems worldwide.
